Most people are discharged from physical therapy able to perform daily tasks — but not back to the strength, capacity, or confidence they had before. Posthab is the structured bridge from 'cleared' to genuinely recovered, coordinated alongside your surgeon and therapy team.
Education
The gap after discharge
Discharge is not full recovery
Therapy goals are typically functional independence. Returning to sport, lifting, or a physical job requires months of continued progressive loading beyond that point.
Rebuilding lean mass
Post-surgical muscle loss can be substantial. Recovering it requires a deliberate protein and resistance training plan, not just time.
Asymmetry becomes injury
Untrained side-to-side differences after a unilateral procedure are a common contributor to re-injury. Measuring and closing that gap is a core focus.
Inflammation and nutrition
Energy availability, protein, vitamin D, and overall diet quality influence tissue healing and how quickly capacity returns.
Pain, sleep, and the nervous system
Disrupted sleep and fear of movement can persist after tissue healing. Graded exposure and sleep work are part of the plan.

We work within the restrictions and timelines set by your surgeon and physical therapist — never around them.

General Information
General information on possible protocols
Educational overview only. Any medical protocol is prescribed at the independent discretion of a licensed physician after evaluation — not by BioSphere coaching staff.
Phase 1 — Restore
Working within surgeon restrictions to rebuild range of motion, control, and tolerance to basic load, with your trainer coordinating alongside physical therapy.
Phase 2 — Rebuild
Progressive resistance training to close strength asymmetries and restore lean mass, paired with an elevated-protein nutrition plan.
Phase 3 — Return
Sport-, work-, or life-specific conditioning and load exposure until capacity meets or exceeds your pre-injury baseline.
Medical layer
Physicians of BioSphere Physician Partners, PC may review healing progress, medications, labs, and any therapies clinically indicated during recovery.
Medical Access Through Partnership
Access to medical evaluation, labs, and prescription protocols is provided through our partnership with BioSphere Physician Partners, PC. BioSphere Human Optimization provides non-medical coaching, education, and coordination. All diagnoses, prescriptions, and treatment decisions are made independently by licensed clinicians and are billed separately from your membership.
